My wife really liked the color and be honest it grew on me. In my area one deal only has two. another dealer about 6 but I never see a Custom Softail sitting on the floor.
You've got a nice bike,period.ote]ORIGINAL: barjbar
I like mine and I'll tell you I get a compliment almost every time I park my Heritage. Got another one today. You have to remember the economy sucks and the 105th anniversary edition on my bike was, I think, $1100 more than a black Heritage. A two tone Heritage is around $700 more. The main reason I bought the anniversary edition is because I got 1.05% financing. Without that, I wouldn't have bought it. But I really like the colors now but of course I'm prejudiced.

Personally I'm not a big fan of the color combo, if youhave one and like it, more power to ya. They're just not for me.However, they sure seem to be selling recently. Seems like it wasn't that long ago that there were several of each modelwith the anniversary paint on the showroom floor and now there aren't many at all.Guy who worksnext to me at work does most of the sales (accy installs onsold bikes) work for the dealership and all 3 of his racks this morning had copper-tops on 'em that had been sold in the last 24 hours, with another waiting off to the side for a free lift.
I was at the dealership yesterday, they only have 2 copper bikes left.In addition, they had 1 X bones and were sold out ofRockers. Even with the production cut, all dealers are still very well stocked with all bikes. For some reason they have a Ton of the Dyna line, all colors and all models. They keep track of sales on a board so people can see. They had sold 40 bikes in May so far.
The dealers that have them on the floor are ignorant... Instead of waiting for the "fire sale", they could just add the option of new tins. I just checked the HD site, for an '08 Wide Glide, the MSRP on a paint set it $1600. Instead of the typical $1600 markup over MSRP on the bike, they should throw in the paint set for free and sell the bike at MSRP. The average Joe who wants a new bike would jump all over it because he thinks he's getting a deal, tell all his freinds how good of a deal he got and, not knowing what cost is on the piant set, it wouldnt cost the dealer much. They would sell the bikes, make happy customers and get good publicity out of it. The copper tops are a niche market. You gotta like them to buy them, especially for the elevated price tag.. There arent that many people who like that color, not much different than some of the teal or yellow bikes over the years. For them to make an anny bike black sounds cool, but really.. How would it be any different than the millions of non anny'sthat are out there? The mindset is just wrong. Some dealers are still living on the "I've got something you want and cant get anywhere else" attitude. Its not that way anymore. Your asking alot for anyone to drop $20k or so on a bike to begin with, but I wont get started on that, thats a diffrent topic..
Why did the MOCO paint all of them the same? I have a 100th anniversary and it looks like the 2002 model.Except it has a badge on the fender and motor. It also has a special handlebar clamp.I put on the 100th anniversary timer, derby, air cleaner covers on it myself. Those gold and black 105th models are ugly.[:'(]IMO

Engraved Rebellion: Inside Bundnerbike's Glam Rock II
I like mine and got a deal on it in November,I wasn't crazy about the color but now I really like it. In a sea of "blacked out one of a kind bikes" I kind of like to stand out its easy to spot.
I've rethought my earlier likes/dislikes , to me the coppertop is ok on any of the bikes without bags or a fairing . Think that color overwhelms me when there isso much of if on the dressers . I really like my smokey gold / black combo , but never really cared for it on a dresser , go figure ?
