I'm only familiar with the EVO and 88 TC engines, and then only slightly. Does anyone have a link to a doc that briefly describes the differences between the Harley engines? I've always been curious.
Dude just check out some old Harley pics on the net. It's the top of the cylinder heads viewed from the right side. Knucleheads were made from the thirties through '47 (I think) and lookin at the engine from the right hand side, there are two big adjusters on top of each head (knuckles) next was the Panhead from '48 to '64 (I think) the covers look like a bread pan. Shovel was next from '65 to '84 (?) don't really get the name but..... that's what it's called. The Evo was called the Blocked by some folks. The TCs have been called Fatheads. Before all of these was the venerable Flathead, and if your lucky you can find one of the rare Gimme ones.

My personal favorite is the Shovel.

For Looks = Panhead in a wishbone frame
Everyday riding = my twin cam heritage

Looking for either a panzer st or get a blown evo to put a neopanhead in = best of both worlds

They look good. And I'm glad that's all I've got to do is look at them. When you look at what we've got today, and the reliability, I know I don't want to go back.
