I passed on the extended warranty since it was essentially only a 2 year warranty for the extra grand. If you read it, you'll see it only "extends" your factory warranty another couple of years, not the 4 they imply. That means you get your HD warranty for the first 2, then this one for the next 2, but you don't get 6 total (2 factory, 4 extended). Kind of misleading. Not trying to sway you either way, just pointing it out.
