Robert, I've got a pair of US Saddlebags and I recommend them. They're sturdy and easy to remove for cleaning. The brakets attach to your fender strut with bolts that you don't want to often take out, so the brackets typically aren't removable. If you'll have your bags on all the time, then there's no compromise there. Not cheap, but good quality and US-made. Go with their larger size unless your like a low profile/narrow look or you rarely carry much.

My US Saddlebags are on a Victory Kingpin. The bags themselves are generic, except for the two sizes and the pattern options. It's the mounting brackets that are bike model-specific. If I didn't already have bags on my Sportster 1200C, I'd get US Saddlebags for that bike too. As far as the size options go, the standard and large sizes are the same in height and length. They differ only in width, meaning the large ones will extend outwards further.
