I have an 03 Heritage. Bought it comin up on 2 yrs ago with 2,500 miles on it. (18k on it now) It has been totally trouble free except for a flat tire....untill last week.
I always reset my trip odometer when I fill it up. (don't wanna rely on the gas gage alone) Anyways I forgot to reset it after filling up and was crusin down the road when I noticed it. So I reach down and push the little rubber nipple and when I release it the damn thing launched off and went flying!
That sucked, so I stopped by the local HD (Sheltons in Durham). I was clutching my wallet and had prepared myself for a good fuc'n. Told em what happened and they had one in stock. (Cost under $3.00 inc tax) I had it parked next to the service dept. and one of the tech's popped off the speedo cluster and, pushed the re-set button out thru the hole, and replaced the rubber nipple. Took about 5 mins, and when I asked how much, he said don't worry about it!
I slipped him a $5.00 bill and said thanks. Could not believe it!
Got away real cheap, thats for sure!!!
I lost oil in my rear shock they took me right in and they had 1 in stock but sent a runner to get another, only slowed my trip by about 2 hours. When the runner came back 1 shock was installed and waiting for the other.Warranty job, like you left a tip and a big thanks.
I moved in Dec of 91 havent been back since. When I moved it was still Durham HD those guys were real cool and always helpful. Bought my only new bike from them in 86
