This last weekend I went to a "Law Enfrocement Rodeo". Several law enforcement organizations from around the area (florida big bend) compete on a very tight course.
It was amazing to watch these guys (and a few girls) sling these 800lb bikes around like they were dirt bikes.
Excellent time, excellent experience.
Here are a few pics:
I've seen out local Sheriffs team put on a display. They are really good. I thought I could ride but I would not even try some of the things they do. Takes lots of practice though.
By the look of that first pic, they spend too much time BEHIND A DESK... probably munching donuts.
Civilians ride just as good. Just depends on how well you know your ride.
I used to think I was pretty good a driving a car until I spent some time in Emergency Vehicle Operation (EVO) training, too. It makes a big difference when you train and practice specific tasks. I know how to ride, but there is no way I could be that good without training and practice. It looks like a great time, and I wish I had the opportunity!
Those guys and gals have to know how to ride as their lives depend on it. They are doing a heck of a job. Their bikes are their tools like a carpenter and his saw and hammer, or a mason with his trial and square. They are good at what they do. Could all of us do it, maybe with tons of practice.
