Well, head out tomorrow morning on one of our C-5's and flying to San Antonio for 2 weeks. Hope to get a free weekend and rent a HD and do some riding. Heard from a friend we should ride west towards Bandera and around that area. Any other neat things to check out in the surrounding area?
Will be good to get out of this cold weather and enjoy the warmth. Suppose to be in the 80's while we are there...
Bandera is a cool little town. You can also go up to Leakey through Bandera and Medina. Roads 335 are 336 are really nice roads and there is Leakey Motorcycle Stop which is a neat little joint. Fredericksburg is really nice and if you're around there then you might as well check out Luckenbach. If you want to go north you can hit up Gruene and go out to The Deck.
The ride from Medina down toward Leakey, Rock Springs the up to Junction is great. That area is the best place to go. Maybe Craig (Harley-rulz) will be able to hook up with you. He lives in Boerne, on the edge of San Antonio. He really knows the area.
Well, the C-5 broke which does not suprise me...was at least hoping to make it to Texas and then have it break! Will be flying out tomorrow on one of the last 2 C-141's left in the AF inventory. HOPEFULLY it will be A/C 177, the Hanoi Taxi. Will try and get a pic of the bird before we put the wheels in the wells....Look forward to getting a weekend off and doing some riding, I got an itch and it is because of this Ohio weather! [:@]
