New scoot is arriving this week and I'm in need for a new leather.
I'm looking for something that is versatile, has at least vents and an iPod pocket. Quality is high on the priority list, since I just bought the bike, I do get a 20% discount of official HD stuff, so that's nice.
Your going to ride in it - not live in it. I'd suggest you go down to your Stealer and get them to help you buyone with your 20% discount. I am sure if you spend enough they will make you an iPod pocket too. Its all down to personal choice and what's right for me I'll bet won't be right for you.
I have always been a leather jacket guy,but after using the TourMaster air intake jacket,I have begun to rethink my stand. It is a three season jacket with two removable liners with armor also, cooler than a tee shirt in the summer heat, with the liners in good to a little below 40 degrees, with the rain wind liner in it,it is a rain jacket. Some folks here got me to think outside the box, glad they did.
Wilson's Leather has great stuff, and sounds like the "Mandarin Collar" jacket is what you are looking for. Zip out lining, vents, pockets both inside and out, and even a silk/flannel fold away collar to keep out the cold breezes. They are having a sale right now that beats your 20%. Check 'em out....
I was looking for a new jacket this year as well. Liked the Fox Creek Classic II, and also the HD Nevada style jackets. Stopped in at one of the HD shops here in the Twin Cities and they had a jacket identical to the Nevada, but at $180 versus $500. It's heavy duty, zip out liner, vented, snapped collars, zip-up sleeves, and inside/outside pockets. Been comfortable in our 38-42 degree mornings we've had this spring. I wanted something comfortable in all temps for my 2 week trip out west in Jul/Aug.
But, check out your dealer if you're getting that discount. Then try'em on, cause each style might fit differently. I did like that one at Fox Creek too, but I'm satisfied with what I got, and the price I got it for.
personally I don't own ANY hd stuff. I go with Scholt NYC or Vanson. That's just me though. I will say my vanson jacket saved me in TX when sand and my rear tire had a disagreement and again when a drunk blonde ran out on foot in front of me in downtown Charlotte. Both times Vanson repaired the jacket and sent it back to me like new.
