Default Leather or Vinyl

Getting ready to buy a new seat. Which material do you all prefer? I know that the leather is cooler but wrinkles and takes its own form.

A good leather seat will still be there for your grandchildren.
With age, it takes a weathered look that adds to the character of the bike, while vinyl just seems badly worn and old.

Leather for me please. Breathable and I don't slide back on the seat as easily when I nail the throttle.

Leather for sure, as said it takes on a character of it's own and wears very well over many years with just a little care. I'm a Corbin fan myself...

I have both and like both. Good leather is good. However, lots of leather ain't so good. I don't know about all motorcycle seats, but lots of them, along with most autos only have leather on the seating area and use vinyl on the sides. Crappy looking leather in autos after just a few years isn't uncommon.

Synthetic stuff can be great. I had my Jeep upholstered with a fabric called Rave a few years ago. It looks like leather, smells like leather, feels like leather, but doesn't wrinkle and age like leather.

Leather is of course timeless (as long as you care for it properly: some leather needs more care than others).

But synthetics are not so bad. Long gone are the days of naugahide. If I only rode my bike from 2 to 3:30 every other Sunday afternoon, I'd go for leather in a second. But since I do get caught in rain/snow/hail frequently and park it in the sun often, I'd at least give synthetics a second look, and am. SHopping for a solo seat myself.
