If it's a scam, it's not via the internet. My father buys and sell certian used bikes, and the old man answered an ad my father put in his local newspaper. My father said the man was VERY old. Someone of that age is not usually the "scamming" type, but you never know. If there is ever a transaction, it would be face to face. Not much room for scam that way.

We've already spoken with a few people, including the HD Museum. They said that although this is not a very common situation, they have heard of more than one instance where someone has purchased a very old bike, still crated.

I've not heard too many stories about motorcycles, but I've heard numerous stories about people finding very old cars/trucks that have been stashed in barns, and still in nearly perfect condition.

Who knows how this will turn out, but time will tell.
