some parts need to be bought and somethings can be fabricated. The last dozen shows I have seen, they fabricated the gas tank, front on rear fenders, the frame, "sissy bar" etc. Many of you dog on them, but you don't say who is better.

I've only seen the show maybe 10 times ever, but each time I remember the bulk of the work involved was fabricating fenders, tanks, oil tanks, frames, seat pans, etc., and I even remember a show where they did the pipes, too. And then they get sub-contractors to do the paint, seat, wheels, but all to their own design. I don't know how much more "custom" a custom bike is supposed to be than that. Sure, the little stuff (grips, pegs) may be bolt-on, but I'm sure there are also "custom" builders out there who fab those things and then get the fame, seat/pan, fenders, etc. out of a parts catalog. And a lot of the more "bike" shows (as opposed to the "feuding" shows) shows them struggling with tolerances, angles, finish, paint matching-all attention to detail.

The guys are a bunch of jokers, and sometimes fun to watchadmit itthough the recent shows are pretty stupid and less about buildingnot as fun, I admit it. But I don't deny that they put in some work. Their business sense seems to be mistimed. They should have done all this expanding in the second or third season so that they could have paid much of it off and then downsized to maintain a profit while reducing overhead in a reducing marketshare.

But as a guy who grew up and still rides production bikes, I just don't get the whole custom thing anyway. Never did. You are supposed to mod your bike yourself. If you want to do something crazy, pick up a torch and learn how to use it.

I can't believe I'm agreeing with Uncle Don!

I happen to be looking at a bike near the Palisades Mall in Rockland Co. NY last night &amp\\;\\\\\\; stopped there to eat &amp\\;\\\\\\; pick up some items at Target. Target is on the top floor &amp\\;\\\\\\; we (wife)&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; happen to pass by the OCC retail store in the mall. The place was a mess with a big sign that said temporary store closing. There were 4 display bikes on the floor that looked like they weren't cleaned or dusted in 6 months. The Nasa, Yankees, NY Giants &amp\\;\\\\\\; one other. They really were not impressive at all. Neither was the dumpy store. Just a bunch of OCC clothes &amp\\;\\\\\\; a few helmets &amp\\;\\\\\\; novelties. I never thought that store was a good idea either.
&nbsp\\;
OCC has a new place on Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. Not sure when it first opened but was there a couple of weeks ago.&nbsp\\;We passed it going to another location while on a ride. Didn't stop in, but there were a bunch of bikes outside the store and it appeared to be just recently opened.

The jealousy in some of these posts in dang near toxic.
&nbsp\\;
Most people just can't stand to see someone else make money doing the dream.
Demand will determine their future success.
&nbsp\\;
They are going to production bikes to tap a larger market (the average working person).
I wouldn't buy one of their production bikes but more power to em.
&nbsp\\;
I wish them nothing but success!

FWIW, I'm glad they made a buck!&nbsp\\; After all is said and done, they are a succesful American story that came up from the bottom...&nbsp\\; If they found someone to pay them for what they did, good on them...&nbsp\\; As far as them having and ego, I've seen some broke MFers that acted like they owned the world....&nbsp\\; I pity the fools that revel in seeing american bussineses go belly up.&nbsp\\; Regardless of my opinions on their products, they employ other Americans and truely hope they can keep doing so!!

We all new the bubble would have to burst someday.In this economy it's amazing it has lasted as long as it has.Maybe if they take on a line of bicycles,they could stretch it out.

Not surprising, what goes up had to come down I'm just amazed it took this long.
Only bike they ever "built" that I liked was the firemen's tribute bike.
Not so mich for the looks but for what it stood for.

The newer shows had them moving in a new huge new building. The overhead on that building would be substantial. With the softening of that market and the eventual cancellation(can't last forever) of that show it will be hard for them to maintain I would imagine.
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
All the hype and the cash flow from TV lead them to their new building but now that the economy is in the tank I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear that they fold. Perhaps Vinnie saw this writing on the wall.
&nbsp\\;
Yeah I noticed that last night.&nbsp\\; Hadn't seen the show in months, but was over at a friends house and her 11 year old wanted to watch it.&nbsp\\; I hadn't seen the show in awhile, but they had that huge building (looks at big as the Arlen Ness facility!)&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
Hey more power to them for the money they made!&nbsp\\; Never really thought all that much about their bikes, but some of them were pretty interesting.&nbsp\\;

They were ok. Hay they hit on a good thing. They should be&nbsp\\;set for life if they put some money away. Plus the royalty and product indorsement's they receive. They made show bikes for the TV show not really practial for long rides or going to the store. Some of the old school bikes were nice. The show brought attention to some special needs groups. 911 NYFD our men and woman in Military service and kids with special needs. I don,t no them never been to ther store or purchased any of there items. But heck they did well good for them or any one else that hits&nbsp\\;it big with out F*^ing any body to get there.
