Here is my problem. I ordered a 06 FXDLI a couple months back. While waiting for it to come in, I found my families dream home and have a contract on it with a closing date in April. The bike came in this week and the dealer said if I don't take delivery this week they'll sell it. I don't want to pick it up until the house deal is done, so I don't change my debt ratios and **** off the bank. Anybody else put themself in this situation before? What would you do?
If you already have a closing date in April, then the bank has done its credit checks for the mortgage! You should be safe to get the bike. Call the mortgage company and verify they should be able to tell you so you don't have to wait for the bike!
Agree with above. The dealer wants to move the Dyna, because with the new Dynas, the demand is quite high. My dealer is a pretty decent sized dealer and they have already sold out all thier alloted Dynas for the '06 year....and it is still winter here. They have a few on the floor and that is it for the year for them.
When I ordered my Deluxe, I was considering the bike you ordered. They told me that if I wanted to order the Dyna and changed my mind during the wait...no problem. But if I wanted to go the other way, forget it. So that may be one of the issues.
Another thought might be: explain to the dealer your dilemna and say "hey, I am NOT going to back out on the bike, I just want to close on the house...how about if I give you another few hundred in cash to apply to the bike in good faith, and just wait until I close?" They might go for that if you have a few hundred $$$ around.

I closed on my house on Monday of last week...even though they had pulled my credit a month earlier, they also pulled it the Saturday before we closed. Be careful, there's nothing saying they won't pull it again as you reach your closing date.
What BBdeluxe said....just flip them another $500.00 or so and tell them to be cool. Remind them that if they sell the bike....you will not be back, and in a few short weeks you will own a brand new one from somewhere else. If they cannot understand your situation, to hell with 'em!

I think Zombie is right... Even though the closing date is out a bit they may pull the records again anyway... It depends on what kind of loan you are getting and who the lender is.
Your best bet would be to ask both the lender and the Harley Dealership what you can do...
If you can afford the house and the harley without any trouble it should not matter at all... What kills you on the credit rating for buying a house is the credit cards... Even if you don't have a balance or you pay off the card every month they still assume that you can max them two minutes after you close on the house... So if you have 2 cards that have $10k limits the bank assumes that you are $20k in debt even if you don't owe anything on them... it is retarded but that is how a lot of them do it.
