Have you checked the connections at your battery? Take the cables off clean all the surfaces,&nbsp\\;tighten them back to the battery&nbsp\\;and try starting it again. If it still doesn't start, charge the battery, then try and start the bike.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;

Update:

I took my bike into the dealer this morning and they told me... "most likely it is your battery or starter relay and it will be fixed by the end of today but give us a call to verify the bike is ready"&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I called around 3pm and the girl on the phone said the bike wont be ready today. With a sarcastic laugh she said "in fact, your bike won't be ready for 2-3 weeks if not more".. she later on informed me that the engine is completely locked up.:-'(

Sigh, I am having withdraws from riding and it has only been an hour. Oh well, life is life and there is a bright side to everything and my bright side is two words. .. 'new engine' LOL

Just wanted to thank everyone for their input. Ride safe and have a good time while doing it.

glarior sorry to hear about your bike. I had a question for you and the masses, and&nbsp\\;please don't take this the wrong way as I am still learning about these new motors and&nbsp\\;bikes. I know that the nightster doesn't have a tach along with alot of other models. Does HD rev limiter work both ways on its bikes?&nbsp\\;Because a overrev would indead bend a rod and cease a motor. I used to own a 2004 1200r and for the life of me I never rode it hard enough to attempt this plus I had the tach to see. again sorry to hear that you are going through this and I'm sure HD will make it right!

The whole purpose of the rev limiter is to prevent you from over-revving and damaging&nbsp\\;the motor. I seriously doubt his motor blew because of being over-revved.

Danny, that's what I figured and I'm sure its not the case, but&nbsp\\;I was&nbsp\\;interested because of my own curiosity about the other end of the spectrum with the rev limiter. I.E. down shifting, my last sports car was a high revving engine, in which most of the power came from the top end. This caused alot of the other car owners issues because when they would down shift, the rpms would jump and the rev limiter didn't register&nbsp\\;as it&nbsp\\;is&nbsp\\;only set up to work on acceleration,&nbsp\\;causing the rpms to run way past the engines actual limit. I believe it's called mechanical overrev, and it would cause thrown rods, value issues. I have seen and heard people misshift with&nbsp\\;cars&nbsp\\;and do this, but never hear about it on a bike, so I didn't know if the setup was any different.&nbsp\\;I figure with no tach it could be easy to smoke an engine on a hard downshift, especially because HD has lower rpm limits.
&nbsp\\;
Sorry to highjack your thread glarior and thanks for the PM'ed info, I hope that you are back in action sooner than later!

Tach helps you learn where the engine rev's are when you are going to downshift or upshift.&nbsp\\; I have always listened to the engine and learned the sound of the engine revs so I knew when to upshift or downshift. It is possible to miss a gear. When the bike had about 4k on it I missed a shift going from 1-2 because the bike went into neutral. The limiter kicked in and I had a quick jolt from losing all the power to the wheel as I was reading myself for second gear instead of neutral lol.

Yeah, I hope my bike is in action soon. I am going to sell it or trade it because I already have a new bike I want plus ill opt for the extended warranty lol. Can't wait!
