For 5 grand ya sould be able to get a used&nbsp\\;1500 Vulcan. That would be plenty big for ya.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; &nbsp\\;And a good bike too.

Your size is equal to a lot of motor cops, so for a first bike I always like to suggest a used Kawasaki Police Interceptor. I know it’s not sexy looking, but it is a great first bike, and is the best bike to learn on. And its damn near indestructible, I know this much from first hand experience. Keep it one year and ride the hell out of it. Take as many riding courses on it as you can while saving money for your eventual purchase.

&nbsp\\;The 1500 Vulcan may not be a bad option, definately will have plenty of power.&nbsp\\;If you can find one in good contion and within your budget. You probably won't find a&nbsp\\;Harley for 5grand unless it is an older Sportster or a Basket Case.
&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;The 800 Vulcan will have enough power but you may feel cramped up on it. Try one out, if it feels a little small it should be OK. If it feels way too small then you probably won't like it (especially on long rides).
&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;The 900 Vulcan has a little more power and&nbsp\\;the frame&nbsp\\;is the same size as&nbsp\\;the 1500. The 900 is better balanced and feels lighter when picking it up off the stand or moving it around. (I have an older&nbsp\\;1500 Vulcan&nbsp\\;(BUBF) and have been looking at getting a&nbsp\\;900 for my wife).
&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;It may sound obvious but: When you&nbsp\\;"try on" a bike&nbsp\\;get into riding position. Put your feet on the pegs/floorboards and your hands on the bars. You will spend hours riding in this position.
&nbsp\\;At 6'3"&nbsp\\;your feet&nbsp\\;should reach the ground on just about any bike. You will spend a few minutes of every ride in this position.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;

I would say the 800 would be a good bike for you however the diff between a 800 and a 1500
power is a lot I had a 1500 actually still own it but my son rides it now and it is a good bike..
I really liked it when I rode it now I can't stand it (sorry)the 1200 sporty would be my choice
and it will be plenty big enough for many years ..
