Default Hydration vests

Anybody have one? I just bought one for my upcomming vacation in Las Vegas. Also for the days here in SoCal over 100. How do you wear it? What goes underneath? Can I wear leather over it? &nbsp\\;

I just returned from a 2700 mile trip from central NC to Maine.&nbsp\\; I wore a backpack type and it worked ok.&nbsp\\; I filled it with ice and water and about an hour into the trip it started to sweat.&nbsp\\; It was 98 and the water was very cold.&nbsp\\; It actually felt good even though it soaked my shirt.&nbsp\\; It was unconfortable because I could not lean back against my seatback very well.&nbsp\\; I ended up attaching it to my luggage and covered it with my jacket.&nbsp\\; The water stayed cold and I drank everytime I stopped.&nbsp\\; Make sure you keep drinking even if you are not thirsty.&nbsp\\; Dehydration can be a killer.&nbsp\\; If you drink a quart or two and don't pee you are not drinking enough.&nbsp\\; If you feel the slightest bit lightheaded, get off the bike and find some shade.&nbsp\\; Drink as much water as you can and cool of your body any way possible.&nbsp\\; I have a friend who ignored the signs and ended up crashing.&nbsp\\; Be careful.

&nbsp\\; Wear it under something to make it last longer.
If you are riding to get here, stop and re wet it along the way.
As others have said drink LOTS of water often, it have been hovering around 112* everday lately.

I bought the HD one, wore it on a 100 degree day under my leather jacket. It was great never took my jacket off, people were giving wierd looks when I was walking around, but it kept me real cool. It took about 4 days for it to completely dry out though.

I wear the HD mesh jacket. As soon as I begin to perspire, it cools me. So far it has been enough, even in 100+temperatures we've had this past six weeks.[:-]
