Basic MSF course now. I've been back riding for a year now after a 30 year absence and don't think I would be this comfortable without the course. Ride better now than when I was young and foolish. Don't forget the industrial parks early sat. a.m. The more practice the better. Good luck.

I'm gonna get clobbered for saying this, but it helped for a friend.
Pick a easy set of twisties, and let him lead. When you get through em, turn around and make him lead again.
I was amazed how fast fear turned to confidence.

I agree. Get your buddy off the road and onto the MSF beginner course. It seems to me that he is trying to run before he can walk. MSF will&nbsp\\;teach him fundamentals that he is lacking at present. He is headed for a nasty experience that will sour him on motorcycling forever. There is no shame in taking a beginner coarse.

If he is worse at left handers, he is not looking where he wants the bike to go, both ways should be easy as long as he looks into the turn.

If possible you might have him spend some time on a smaller bike to get the feel for it.

He sounds scary. You need to have a talk with him and see if he truly likes to ride.

has he rode before? if not then he needs the course and i agree you can learn so much by rideing in the dirt with a small bike . sounds to me he could be in big trouble sooner or later.i know a guy that is about the same way. i rode with him about a month ago. he and your friend needs practice and alot of it.there is alot of danger out there even for the old people but for the new one's you got to have a ideal what you are doing before they get hurt or some one else.

I agree with everyone about the class. I still use things from that class. We had a guy much like your buddy, not too sure of himself in twisties. I shared some of the information with him and on our way home, he did much better. I know at first I was a little shaky but it just takes practice. Just keep working with him but do stress the class. It is worth the money.
