It is a wonderful feeling when you go on your first solo ride. \\; I love the looks from people when they see grandma on her bike. \\; I get a lot of waves from the kids in the back seat of cars, thinking I wish my grandma was that cool. \\; The hubby still tends to worry, but I suspect that he will have to get over it. \\; When I was at the MN State Rally, they had a demo on how to pick up your bike, I have a Heritage Softtail and the bike that they demo was a Heritage, it was really easy. This helped the hubby with some of his worries.
That first solo ride is scary, but really empowering. I'm with you, though - still try to find a "reason" to get out and ride! I've been to the bank, grocery store, etc. on my scoot more times than I can count!
Right on! You girls are giving me a lot of courage. I take my riders edge class Oct 2nd and I can't wait to ride~ let alone ride solo~~I think it's so cool you are going out on your own ![sm=goodidea.gif]
Congrats Donna.Get ready to get that great special attention when some see you are alone!Very nice! And a big congrats on doing it in Mesa!![sm=smiley20.gif]Ive been bugging our small dealer to do ladies night for 4 years now.[:@]
TwiggyAZ, tell your dealer its to their benefit. \\; They provide some refreshments, and talk to ladies that don't ride about why they can. They introduce them to the classes, motorclothes, etc. \\; Then they let them sit on the bikes to get a feel for it, and take a \\;picture on their favorite to take home. \\; That's how they got me hooked! They throw the party quarterly.
