My connector actually came apart without removing it from the clip first but it's easier to unclip it. It'll only take you ten or fifteen minutes to do but it takes a few minutes of looking to find the clip. You will really like the difference it makes on the bike.
Thanks, I got it. It felt like the connector was wedged under the oil tank, and I was worried about pulling too hard on the wires.

I know what you mean. Hard to start pulling too hard on such a beautiful new machine.

Bad advice friends. They are entirely compatible. The IED's or XIED's work in closed loop only. Fuellpaks cut in in open loop - so you have the ideal combination for little cash.

IEDs are not perfect, but they are fantastic value for money for the average Joe (myself included) running stage 1 and fuelpak. I mean, what more do want - cooler, smoother, dependable and inexpensive.

Delighted Nightrider customer (one of may thoudsand I suspect).

Ride more, spend less, and be happy friends.

Scotsport is right. I've got them both and they work well together. Had the fuel pak first for a few months and then added the XiEDs and they cooled the bike considerably when stuck at lights.

I posted earlier that I switched to XIED's on my wife's '08 Deluxe. I also switched to a K&N (rk-3909) intake. She still has stock exhausts & probably will for a while.

Maybe the K&N was a step back "leaner" & maybe a waste of $$ & no real advantage.
Question is, " is it a problem" ?

Shouldn't be a problem. The XiEDs work well with a K&N and pipes so should be fine with just a K&N.

The sensors are located in the exhaust pipes just below where they attach to the heads. The wires are easy to spot coming off the exhaust. The front wires go into a small plastic covered box behind the condensor. Pull the plastic cap off and you'll find the connector that will unplug to let you install the IED. The rear connector is under the oil tank on the right side. Look under the tank with a flashlight and you'll see the wires hooked to the bottom of the tank. Unclip it and you should be able to get to the connector. Hope that helps.

I'm not the greatest wrench in the the world, and I don't want to try removing the oil tank to get access to that connector.

I've read many post that said it was a ten minute install. Oh well another $100.00 bucks down the drain. I'll sell mine cheap if anyone is interested.

2008 Softail Custom.
The rear 02 Sensor plug is under the battery on the '08 Softtail Deluxes. Just remove the battery and the plastic liner and the plug should be right there. On my Wide-Glide it is under the seat and easy to get to.
