Default SE cams

So a stage 1 plus cams is a stage 2 or is a stage 2 just changing cams? and does it really give you noticeably more power. MoCo says the cams are 50 state legal with factory mufflers, so why doesn't harley just put these cams in at the factory, or is it that the upgrade cam doesn't work well with the choked up factory motor? Seems harley could easily give these motors more power right from the factory and still meet EPA rules. I guess it's a money thing, as in how much more can they wring out of you. Do the SE 203 cams really make any difference if added to a stock stage 1 motor?

Stage 2 (on a 96" motor) is big jugs (103"), flat top pistons, cams, SE a/c. SE slip-ons, and ECM remap. Read all about it on the HD website in the accessories section.

OK, that def. would make a difference. I guess just adding cams to a TC88 stage 1 then is just a waste of time and money.

We all seem to learn the hard way. Best advice I can share with you is "leave it alone". Just give it routine maintenance per the owners manual, and the bike will give you many years of good, dependable, service.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I would say that it might be a waste of time if all you're gonna do is put in SE203s, but if you went with a better aftermarket cam, then it could make a very large difference.
