I'll be honest, I'm guilty of this one, me being pretty young: "Young riders pick a destination and go...Old riders pick a direction and go."
Hopefully one day, I will be picking a direction and going too.
Have to smile at this one. long long ago, when I was still young, I almost always HAD to have a destination; and usually it had to be something motorcycle related.......a rally, swap meet, whatever. Many years ago I learned it doesn't have to be anything! Just point the bike and go! Just Sunday the wife and I headed out on the bikes, no particular place to go, just riding. Came across a couple on the side of the road; he was down on the side of the bike fiddling with something. I always stop. That's how I was brought up, somebody's parked, you stop and help! Anyway, just needed a screwdriver, I had one, we chatted and ended up riding together the rest of the day! That's how it's supposed to be my young friends! Enjoy, don't be in such a big assed hurry to get..........anywhere!

Exactly, my buddy Mark and I rode to Sturgis together. He wanted to get back by Sunday and I wanted to ride down to New Mexico for some Huevos Rancheros. We rode off in separate directions as we often do, he got home Sunday and I got home Monday. I had a great ride through southern Colorado, but I never got my Ranch Eggs.

I met two older riders the other day at a gas station on I-10 here in Houston. I noticed when they pulled in that they were loaded pretty heavy and ask them where they were headed. One of them thought for a minute and said. "We haven't decided yet, but when we get to Los Angeles, we're either going to turn left or right."
