Hey man, some of us can't have the boat too.
So I have to park by the graveyard. I'm ok with the extra walking but I didn't want to wrestle my bike around that little gravel road. There is no place to turn around. I spot a dirt road heading through the woods and I think "aint no hunter gonna back out of there. surely there is a place for turning around".
Nightsters sit too low for off-roading. But, I went for it anyway and found a place to turn around. Just as I'm about to get back onto the gravel I stop. I didn't stop, the bike stopped. It didn't go down. The front wheel was 4 inches off the ground and the jiffy stand was burried. She was just sitting there on a mound of dirt.
It took me 10 minutes of digging to unstuck her. Lucky for me there were plenty of loose flat-rock laying around.
After all that, I walked the mile down to the lake where I found the cove filled with boats. They cleared out quick when I started stripping. I can't imagine what they were thinking. I was covered in dirt.
The water was awesome. The lake is cooling, so there are funky currents bringing cold water up. Its better than air-conditioning.
The bike is fine. I wish I had gotten a normal sportster sometimes. Just for the extra ground clearance.
