No matter what someone else does...I am always responsible for my reaction.

I can choose to react in anger or choose to forgive and let it go.

About pulling the gun on the tailgating semi, I'm glad youve mellowed out. Thats not why we pack.

I agree totally.

In theory.

In practice it can be difficult.

Never said it was an easy choice.
Just said reaction is a choice.
Has nothing to do with an external stimulus.

I've exchanged words with people before over **** that's happened on the road, but hey, **** happens. And we all realize that we're vulnerable to just about every other vehicle out there when we're on the bike. I've never instigated any further altercation, but if you put your hands on me or pull a weapon, I'll use any force I deem necessary to protect myself. It's called self DEFENSE.

I tend to not mess with folks...too many whackos out there on the edge and you never know who's packing. Seriously, rage incidents aren't worth the risk to life and limb or the $$$$ on legal fees, criminal record, etc. Just look at the shooting thread on here...dude should have just rode away rather than get off the bike and confront the bitch.

Someone can whine, cry, taunt, threaten, curse...whatever...I'll just stand there and smile or walk away. Now, if they take a swing or make a motion to do so, or damage my property, all bets are off. I will aggressively defend myself and property, neutralizing the threat as efficiently as possible. I have no problem acting in self defense with extreme prejudice.....but you have to throw the first punch and you better believe I'm waiting for it....

Twiggy in your situation with the truck....man I smell $$$ there. Rather than pull a gun, I would have called the police and filed charges, then got a lawyer and went after the trucking company or owner of the trailer who contracted the truck if he was an indy.
