I installed a set of V&H Black Radius'. Followed the directions to a T, even had a buddy help me who had installed pipes on many bikes. Everything is on correctly, but the pipes aren't lining up evenly. Also, something is rattling and one of the bung holes is too damn big to fit the size bolt V&H says to use, this is causing an irritating popping and backfiring. What do you guys suggest? The pipes are only 2 weeks old. They came to me in an unopened box, wrapped in protective plastic and already had chips in one of the heat shields. I'm not sure if they will do much for me since I have had them on. HELP!
Couple ideas. Post some pics, this is like giving a haircut over the phone without them. Second, try loosing up all the bolts and starting over with everything "wiggly". Sometimes it is just a tweak or two and things magically line up.
I loosened everything up and it seems the pipe is actually too short. I dropped it off with a local bike mechanic and he is gonna get it all worked out I hope. As far as the bung hole goes, he said he'll have to put a copper plug in it and let it expand. Hopefully he doesn't rape me on the price. He is doing it last minute so I can ride it back to Indiana for the weekend, so that's cool.
Contact V&H.
Tell them what you have going on. Give them a chance to work it out.
Chances are they will help you out.
They can sure do more than we can.

V&H helped me with a question I had on my short shots (02 FLSTFI). If I remember correctly, I couldn't find the holes where the mounting bracket was supposed to bolt, until they told me they were plugged and painted over by Harley, and sho nuff, there they were.
I know this is nothing like the problem you describe, but I guess my point is, they were very willing to help and it didn't take me an hour to get a human on the phone. I think they have a good product, and I'll bet they will be willing to help. Good luck.
