i have a h-d jacket and i have to say its pretty heavy duty.i paid about 350 fo it and it does say harley on the from and has the emblem on the back and on each arm but it looks really cool all the jacket and designs are all black.really warmand i wanted no collar cause a collar irritates my neck.
I bought a Brooks about 15 years ago, and it's still what I wear. But last I heard they went out of bussiness, I don't know why, it is a quality jacket.
I have bought 8 leather jackets for myself , family and friends. All from HOT Leathers. They are imports but I really like the style and quality...and dang ya cant beat the price $99.00 each. I have also bought their chaps and vests.Mine is very warm and have had no problems with it al all....
This company is at all the big biker rallys Daytona , Sturgis and they have a web page hotleathers.com
Best jacket I ever bought was $139.00. Much heavier than the HD jackets or most of the other $400 dollor jackets. Lots of storage, a zip out 3M liner, stainless zippers with zipper tabs, belted with sleeve zippers and double folded collar.
Look around. The best leather generally comes out of Pakistan ( I know I know but its true) and has for a lot of years now because they still use the old "toxic" techniques for curing that many places either cannot use or must skyrocket their cost because of their production facilites to do so.
I think you might even be able to get this jacket for less than I paid. Another friend of mine picked one up and said the same as me. "Best freeking jacket I have ever seen or worn". It also has the heavy finish on it that cuts all wind and rain penetration so you will not water logg.
Oh and it has leather strapping on teh sides to adjust the fit further.
I think this think might stop a bullet its so tough. I know for sure it will stop asphalt, or a knife.
The HotLeathers jackets are from Pakistan. I think they look alot better in person.
ZZ,
Do the sizes run pretty true? I generally wear an xl but sometimes have to jump up to xxl to get the right fit...Are they pretty good folks to deal with in case of a return? I had just about decided to either buy one from Jamin Leather or wait for a deal on Ebay, but those Jackets look nice..
I bought a jacket from jafrum leather- it was so inexpensive I am embarrassed to say what I paid for it. Way less than $100 bucks. it is the best leather jacket I have ever had. It is heavy, incredibly well-made, YKK zippers throughout, zip-out thinsulate liner, vented, you name it. I have a Heine Gehricke Harley jacket from 1981- it is a beauty but doesn't compare to the Jafrum jacket. Everybody who has looked at it pegs it for $400 minimum. Look 'em up on E-Bay.
Interstate Leather makes some decent Jackets and Chaps. The prices vary from place to place though. I bought mine from Mills Fleet Farm for $130 for the Police Style Jacket, and $80 for the regular Chaps. I've also seen them in Truckstops for low prices too.

We have a Farm store like that here also, and they carry leather jackets and chaps...problem is they are always sold out of lg, xl, and xxl...they look like nice jackets and priced about $130.
I asked the clerk when they get them and she said on Thursday afternoons generally, and they sell fast..I guess the word is out and folks are waiting for the truck when it comes..its about a 30 minute drive for me so its seems easier to just shop online an dlet the UPS man bring it to me..
