Went to the dealer today. Special promo right now, test ride the Rocker and for every mile ridden, $1 will be donated to breast cancer research. While waiting to take the Rocker out for a ride, looking around and there is Dave Perowitz talking to the owner of the dealership. He had just bought a "09 bagger that he is going to re-do in his own style. He is riding back to Conn. from South Jersey on the new bike. He and the owner (Barb) were talking about going fishing together when the plans were firmed up.
BTW, the Rocker was a nice ride, even with 2-up. Wide tire made some difference. Took some time to get used to the foward controls (mine are mids). Not ready to get rid of the Street Bob just yet. Just got it set up to the way I like it.

Dave's been in the business a long time and still at it. He did the paint and engine cover engraving on my 1978 Yamaha 1100 (below). That's real gold leaf, hand applied by Dave, covered by a protective layer of clear Imron. The covers were engraved with the same pattern and either anodized first or chromed after.
I love my NT, but I wish I still had that XS-11 too.
Other than his own personal projects, when do you suppose the last time Dave painted a bike was? I know a girl that used to do a lot of his custom paint jobs a couple towns over, but his name and price tag went on the job. Not stirring the pot at all. Just pointing out an observation.
