The past Friday I rode from West Palm Beach to Cape Coral Fl. I stopped for gas on I entered into Ft. Meyers on S.R.80 at a Citco just East of I75. I filled up with 93 Octane as I always do and jumped on I75 South.
after about 15-20 I notice a strange choppy hesitation while holding the bike at a steady 70mph. My Heritage is very well maintained a tuned and has never missed a beat......so obviously I was concerned. I knew it had to be related to the fuel I just got because she was running perfectly before gassing up. I stopped into the Advance Auto Parts store in Cape Coral to see if I could find a good gas additive that would resolve the problem........I ran into one of the clerks there who just happened to be an old salty Harley rider.....as I started to explain my problem, (all I got out was "I stopped for gas") he say's say no more, "you either got cgas at Citco or Shell and you have water in your tank. He when on to tell me that onthe West coast those two stations are famous for water in their gas especially after some hard rains. The dude leads me ove to the shelf and hands me a can of Sea Foam gas additive and said two cap fulls will do you........damn if he wasn't right.....took for a test run and she's running great again.........So HEADS UP Brothers and Sisters......Avoid the station unless you want to pay $4.00 a gallon for water.
Sorry to rant but I thought this might help prevent others for having the same experience...........Also a special thanks to the guy at the Advance aut Parts store........you where right on the money!!!!!!
Simple fix for a chitty problem.
Complainin' to 'em, would be like fartin' in a 90 mph wind, and tryin' to sniff it. Totally useless.
Do you have a utilities commissioner down there? Call 'em and beotch 'bout it. Maybe enuff, and the state will lean on 'em to clean up their act.

Always buy gas from stations that are very busy and sell a high volume of gas. This is especially important for premium gas (93 octane). Gas can start to break down if it sits for longer than 30 days. Low volume stations can have premium in their underground tank for months if people dont buy it. A lot of people that used premium in their cars now use a lower grade because of the price. There is a Sunoco near my house that is a low volume station. Ive filled my tank twice with their premium and my bike ran like sh*t. I now drive about 4 miles down the road to a BP which does a lot of volume. My bike runs fine with their premium gas.
I won't buy a bottle of water, much less gas from a Sh!tgo...I mean Citgo (or do I) station. I would die of thirst before I would give a cent to Hugo Chavez.
