The Govenor of Arkansas implented a "State Of Emergency" BEFORE the arrival of the flooding rains of Ike.
Reason?
It gives the State Government the power to minimize energy price gouging. In fact, the State Of Arkansas has been/is running public ads on the media asking in advance for citizens to take photographic evidence of the price gouging during this "event" and the State will pursue and prosecute.
I paid $4.90 for hi test in north east Calif. last month. No Ike or no one around. It was the "only game in town" type place. Diesel was $5.25. Here in KY it's $4.09 today, up
$.40.
Well, strangely, despite the high prices the station I use is out of gas when they have yet to have a shipment delayed. You can't just blame the oil companies. It's also all the idiots saying, oh my god, oh my god, there's a temporary shortage of gasoline so I better buy as much gas as possible no matter the price. Heaven help those that actually have to travel this weekend since all the gasoline is setting in people garages rather than in the tanks at the stations. Personally, they should have raised prices more and done so earlier so that those that actually had to travel could have some chance at getting the gasoline to do so.
Ahh... don't worry about it... Just keep voting for the same "experienced" f***tards.
After all, I'm sure that your rep is not the one responsible for whoring out the country while hording our own resources... thats all Bush's fault.
Didnt Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid PROMISE the American people that if we gave the congress back to their socialist agenda that they would "take care" of gas prices.
Been almost two years and its been up, up, up with prices. Guess thats their way of taking care of everything huh. Maybe thaats why the libs in congress have worse poll numbers than even the "EVIL" George Bush

And I am one of the guilty ones, I filled up my tank before, took a whole 3 gallons, rode it out then bytched about not being able to find more.
