Helmet Disposal

Does anyone know of a way to dispose of used helmets in an environmentally friendly way. I have a few helmets I need to get rid of (been wearing for five years) and don't want to toss them in the trash where they'll end up in a landfill or someone will pick them out and wear them.
Appreciate any good ideas.

Give them to a painter wannabe , be good to practice on old stuff. Remove the liner , if you want to make sure nobody reuses it.

Look for helmet trade in sales, if you don't need a new ones, see if any friends need one.

Stick it 3 feet off the ground, put some bird food in it.
Bird goes for the food, cat goes for the bird and dog goes for tthe cat.
