Jeez, it's funny. No one voted for 'less than 1000 mi'. I'm shopping for a Sporty for my girlfriend and I'm amazed at the number of 3-4 year old bikes out there with less than 2000 miles on them. Guess those owners must not be forum members.

most of the riders that do less than 1000mi per year are probably not what you would call, "enthusiasts"

I bought my 5 yr old bike with only 3000mi on it guess it was a garage queen and I would doubt the previous owner participated in any HD enthusiast forums but you never know

This year will be our lowest mileage year.We had a very wet spring, then a lot of projects to finish before retirement. Finally too much overtime working restoring electrical power.A little over 2K between 2 bikes.Never really all that concerned about how many miles we put on,it's always about being in the wind.

I've been doing over 10K a year for the past coupla years. My '07 XL that I bought in July '07 will have just over 13K by the end of this week when I ride it back out to Harrisburg again. This year the weather was good, so the car stayed in the driveway a lot. Hopin' for a good winter, but I'm not sure that's gonna happen this year.

Somebody help me out here. I put on a fair amount of miles, so does that make me a "biker?" But I'm an engineer that owns a cage and doesn't belong to a MC, so I guess I'm not a biker. So if I'm not a biker then I must be a poser because a poser is someone who rides, but isn't a biker, right? But don't I do too much riding to be a poser? If that's true then I must be a poser posing as a poser? Sheeit, I don't know where I fit in! This is all so confusing. I have assless chaps, does that help?

I put in for 2500-5000, although this mileage is not all on my Harley. Up until this year I only had a sport bike and was good for about 3500 a year and that still seems about right but its split up between two bikes. I have just over 2000 on the Nightster and almost 1500 on my Superhawk.

I've logged about 8k since late Feb. Mostly highway, mostly to work and back... Funny, I dont ride much on the weekends..

When I was in Fla., we thought 3-5k was a good bit. But, EVERYTHING was less than 3min away. Unless you wanted to go to the mountains or something.. I've put 25% of the mileage on this 14yr old bike, this year, and its not over.. I enjoy it much more here than in Fla.. Weather and scenery make a differnece..

I live in Ohio so once the snow flies i only get the bike out on the days when the roads are clear. I bought my bike in June 2007 new superglide. So sitting here 15 months old and i have 22,000 miles on it but i ride it any chance i get and that is only one trip out of state to the York harley plant.

I'm in the 5,000 to 10,000 category mostly recreational. Not that keeping count matters, it's just the way the riding year plays out. I'm not going to deliberately ride in snow, rain, and temps below freezing just to drive up the mileage. That proves nothing. If riding in inclement weather is part of the trip I'm on, so be it and I'll still enjoy it. And since I don't give a damn about measuring up to any preconceived notions about being or not being a "biker" it has no influence on how much I ride. The H-D "lifestyle" crap doesn't have any sway with me, I just love the history and heritage of the brand and it's design to me is timeless. Archaic, but that is exactly what I love about Harleys.
