I appreciate that, too, because I have the limited-time paint. I wasn't even aware of it when I bought the bike; I just liked the color on the bike I liked best. That would explain why I can't find the numbers.
Now I am back to the top, how does one get the production numbers for a certain color in a particular year? Is that a question for the dealer?
I have an '08 Heritage Softail with the sunglo yellow and black paint. As I understand it, this paint color is a limited color only available in April and May. While I realize this is not truly a custom paint job, I figure it is limited.
My question concerns how to learn how many bikes received this paint scheme? Where do they keep those statistics?
You can call Harley Davidson and get the production numbers for that particular paint combo on your bike.
Have always taken issue with Harley "Custom Paint"!
Why you might ask?
Because if there are more then one, then how can it be "Custom"?
And who wants to dish out all that extra coin for a so called "Custom" paint job with "Harley Davidson" labeled all over it?
Have seen a few nice color scheme's but the logo ruins it IMHO!
Hmmm, Road King Custom
Softail Custom
Super Glide Custom
I see your point though but custom doesnt mean "one off"
I went the "one off" custom paint route and it turned out to be a ****ty paint set. i love my "custom paint" set on my new Heritage and knock on wood have never seen the paint set on any other bikes around here. As far as i am concerned the quality is second to none and probably half the cost from a "one off" paint job.
There are very few HD Custom paint sets that catch my eye, but Jake, yours is truly unique and just all around beautiful. And with only 75 sets, the odds of you running into your own paint at a bike night are really low.
To me custom does mean one off, unfortunately everything is labeled custom anymore.

DIfferent strokes...
My bike will be getting custom paint this winter. I like the bar & shield logo on my bike right now. I will most likely include the bar and shield logo - either the same style decal as is on it now, or an airbrushed version, in whatever I end up doing with the paint.
When I think of custom I think of one-off as well. Maybe "limited edition" paint would be the term. Looks like a numbered piece of art to me! Beautiful paint.
