Many northern states have gone to using synthetic tar, to hold up better in cold temperatures. It is extremely slippery, as compared to the regular stuff. That's the main reason it's getting to be a real problem.
Damn. bottom edge of right back feels like a cheese grater. Must of scrapped it on the ashphalt some.
Oh well, at least I 'll have something to work on this winter.
And whoever asked - I do not live in Wisconsin.... Ohio. We have the worst roads in the us. We call them Simulated Moon Surfaces here in NE Ohio. More accurtate dsescription.
Simpkinst, I'm also NE Ohio and the roads really do suck. You can always tell when you cross back into Ohio by the roads.
Wait till you hit wet tramlines (streetcar-rails), that's really fun!
Have tracks near my house on a bend and instead of filling the gap with pavement they put that metal decking in. Talk about getting your attention every time.

Is it worse to hit a tar snake with your front tar or back tar?"
Thanks for that. Now on top of the tourbag touch up I need to dry all this damn coffee off my key board and hope it still works.
Whats the best method of removing dried coffee from my nose?
See this answers the best method of do-rag application. Flag up front and over your nose to protect from any unwanted liqquid from escaping your sinuses and onto any electronics.
On LI there is the Wantauh Pkwy. Going N. from Ocean Pkwy there is a stretch of road going into a turn that is full of tar snakes so bad that the handlebars appeared to be in a wobble on my 07 Rk. Nearly **** my pants. I slowed the bike down, then sped it up. I ran it back thru that turn at all speeds to try to see if it was the dreaded wobble. Couldn't duplicte what happened on that day. Having gone down once already in another accident a few yrs. ago I decided to add the TWR stabilizer. I went thru that turn a number of times at diffent speeds and nothing. Then one day I went thru the same turn at the speed limit and I felt it again. Must be those darn snakes. I'm at ease knowing it's not the frame.
