Most know I hit a Dodge pickup back in June. Totaled the Low Rider. I got a '07 HSC and I'm riding hard again. While riding I kept noticing something on my right side. First time I saw it I actually swerved the Heritage to dodge it. Now I have the spot that comes and goes and I see what looks like a haze.
Come to find out I have a viscous detachment in the right eye from bouncing off the truck. The back viscous lining has torn loose and is hanging down towards the optic nerve. As it moves around in the eyeball it can show up as a black spot or the haze I see.
When I asked the doc how to fix it, he said ya can't. Eventually it might, and he put an emphasis on might, fall down to the bottom of the eyeball. So now I have to look twice when I see something on the right.
On a brighter note I'm putting gauges on the handle bars. 2" oil pressure and oil temp. I've already changed out the speedometer for one with the tach built in. Harley dropped a whole mess of gauges and brackets from their catalog. I think I have found what I need. Finally found the bracket I wanted. Will put up pics when I get them installed.

sorry i don't know the background, but esp if they hit you, I'm assuming you, and or your attorney, have not settled medical yet and will be going after them for whatever treatment can be done, and any pain and suffering compensation for the problem?
BTW, what kind of doc is this? Family doc, optometrist? I'd be talking to at least an ophthalmologist, if not a specialist eye surgeon to be sure what options are.
I know two guys that had a detached retina re-attached, they actually tilt you upside down on the table and tack weld the little loose piece with a laser
then you have to lay still for several days maybe this viscous lining thing is different but good luck with your recvoery either way
I went to an eye clinic that has optometrist and ophthalmologist. The viscus fluid lining is on top of the retina. He said I was lucky. It could have pulled the retina with it but didn't.
Only treatment is to go in with a needle and try to "catch" the floating loose viscus and suck it out. Problem with that is part of the viscus is still attached. It's so dangerous they only do it in extreme cases. (so i was told).
They turned in front of me. Believe me it's gonna be interesting when we settle on medical pain and suffering.
I used to be 5' 8". After the wreck I'm 5' 6". It pushed my spine into a lazy S.
