neck support
My wife was in an accident a few years back. Guy ran a red light-was reading a map at the time. She has a pile of detached ligiments in her neck making riding a real ordeal due to not being able to fully support her head in the wind. My ? is Does anyone know of a support that can be worn with a helmet to help keep her head from being forced back in the wind?
Wow, sorry to hear that! Should she even be on a bike? I mean, if it were my wife, I think I'd keep her off it. Isn't there something like the football players wear, the neck roll thing? Take care of her man.......
I have a very similar injury that I live with. It sucks.

Look around: there are a lot of these sorts of things for dirtbike riders (who *know* they will fall a lot).
The best solution, the one my ortho keeps telling me (he'll never tell me to stop riding or skiing), is to keep my core strength up. With the reduced ligament tension in my cervical column, it means that core muscles in my mid- and lower-back have to work about 400% harder just to hold my head up. So, tell your wife to hit the gym. It does work.
A month ago I saw an article in a British moto mag about a helmet & neck brace system designed for track riders. It was still in testing and estimated to cost about £400, but if it comes to market, I'll buy one in a second.
For now, I have a little neck roll thingy that I got from a student who is an equipment manager for the football team at work. It tends to squirm around but it helps take some strain off, though it won't do squat in a wreck.
Good luck finding a solution that works for your wife.

Tima thanks for the concern. She has been through alot with other things-organ transplant also, 1 of 12 in the world so I hate to hold her back when she wants to try something. thanks again. Faber thanks for the links I'll have to look into the offerings for the chainsaw crowd. Thought of the ones for football, looks like the MX ones could work better more orientated towards riders. Again you guys have pulled through when asked.
