Long johns, jeans and chaps work to keep my 'azzless' skinny bod comfortable, and we ride down into the 20's. Combo has worked for decades.
Don't like azzlss chaps? Well, then don't ride with me. Your loss.
Some of the guys up here, have opted for wearing leather 'bib overalls', some with thermal lining. They LOVE 'em, because it keeps the cold air off your back where the 'gap' would be between chaps and jacket. Not sure where all you can get them, maybe Google 'em. ??????
+1 on the long johns, jeans and chaps. The azzlss chaps thing has gotten way out there, I wish someone would have told me for the last thirty five years I was dressing gay. To think I also wasted all those years riding Harleys before Harleys were cool, man I must be really screwing up. Next thing you know, leather jackets will be out and we'll all have to have textile wear, body armor, whatever ..... What happened to the good old days when you wore what you owned and could afford and no one gave a rat's azz? For you relatively new to the biker world guys, believe it or not, there was a time when you were accepted just because you rode a motorcycle, not because you lived up to some majority's standards ..............
Hein Gericke used to have the bibs. They don't show up on website now. I used to wear Carharrt Bibs but they are a little rough on the tank paint if you're not careful.
I wear a pair of snowboard pants over my work slacks, typically with thermals under that. The snowboard pants are wind resitant. I cant stand chaps, they havent moved from the closet in about 5 years (which was when I tried the snowboard pants)
Same here, snowboard pants.I can't believe how good they work and how light weight they are.REI mail order.I think they were around 40.00 and solid black and fold up into almost nothing for storage.

Yep,
I have a pair of leather chaps but bought a pair of snowboard pants 2 years ago and they work great. Bought them at a big and tall store and they go right over your jeans. Get ones with the outside zipper that goes halfway up the calf and you don't have to worry about taking your boots on and off.
I just wanted throw out a big thanks to all of you for responding to my question. Lot's a good suggestions here and I learned alot. And to those who wear chaps, nothing wrong with that. To each his own. (Just don't wear them into the bar j/k) I just wanted to see what all the options were since it be gettin cold here at night. Some options are expensive and some not so expensive. Bunch of good info here. Thanks again. Trav
