I'll second the gas guess. Seen it happen on a friend's Ultra before. Some newer HDs' do it. Some don't. Fill it up to much and there is a catch at the top which will just dump it right back out again through the overflow. My 03 Fatboy does not do this.

I did just fill up the gas tank. I did just ride it a few miles. Then I did let it sit in the sun (about 80 degrees outside) for an hour before taking off again. It must have been a gas overflow...
p.s. I was disappointed by the smart azz remarks. They were all too obvious...
