I'm learning that I love the bike but I'm beginning to hate the corporation.
Yep...I discovered that quite a bit ago, although we've been very fortunate with our salesman so far.

I have no complaints about my salesman. He was patient and helped me alot before AND after the sale.

I even over paid about $800 for the bike and don't mind one bit since I got treated so well.

It's not that hard to walk over to a salesman and asking for a little help either. I think to many people think that a salesperson is below average and they should be able to walk all over them. If a salesman was to walk over to some people they'd get pissed because they were being pressured to much.

Not to hijack this thread, but a friend of mine told me a similar story. He told me about a person that went into a HD dealership nearby with the intentions of buying a new bike. Nobody would wait on him and after about 10- 15 minutes, he proceeded to walk out. On his way out, he stopped by the salesman that was by the door and told him this, "I have the money in my pocket to buy a new Harley but you're not getting one damn cent of it." Needless to say, he went elsewhere and that salesman lost his job over that. I guess that some people never learn that keeping the customer happy is how a person makes money and also keeps their job.

It seems anymore that a lot of sales people at HD dealerships are not really salespeople. You don't have to be. The damn bikes sell themselves. I get tickled at some shops when they tell you the price and then you mention doing a trade and they have to get the manager and he pulls out the blue book and says that is what he will give you for your trade. Why the hell can't the salesperson read that to you? Anyway, you don't have to be a salesman to sell a new Harley for MSRP plus freight, set-up and tax.

My brother was a salesman for a metric dealer and very successful at it too. His secret? Let the customer tell you what he wants, then cut him a deal. He never tried to "sell" anything, dragging the cutomer from bike to bike. Like the man said, if he wants it with a pink engine, sell it!

You know a good way to shut a bad sales man up at a dealership would be to go back and when you walk in ask if the A$$hole salesman (Their name)is there. If you are told yes, (even if he/sheis standing right there) reply that you would like to speak to a sales person and that anybody will do,as long as it isn't A$$hole!

Trust me the next one that you talk to will be different and it will get back to the other salsman, and if you buy a bike it will get under his skin sooooooooo bad.

In the salesmans defense, maybe he didn't have any carbed bikes to sell. Might as well try to sell what you do have.IMO

On my trip last summer on my Vulcan, had a breakdown in a small town in Wyoming. Was going to have to wait another few days for parts to come in - really PO'd. Harley dealership across from my hotel and I wandered in. They had a great Road King I really liked and I was really seriously thinking about buying it. Stood there staring at it for 20 minutes. One salesman (some kid with his hat on sideways) sat at his desk with his feet up. Oh, I was the only customer there. Finally hollers over to me "They lookin' after ya ok?" I responded "no." He still didn't get up. I went over and asked where the good bars were in town and left. A little nudge and he would have had a sale.

By the way, I will be buying an 08 Ultra from my local dealership this winter.

I had a GOOD salesperson. I walked in to look at a Roadglide. They were telling me what
a great ride it was.....I started to look at a fatboy.....I was told it was a great bike!
I finally bought what "I" wanted. I just needed the sales person to fill out the paper work.
They let me shop......interjecting what they thought I might like to know.
The didn't try to sway me one way or the other.......I could tell they wanted to make a sale
though.
Sorry you all had crappy experiences.
(I would suggest NOT buying a used car from Daytona Mazda...Daytona Beach, FL)
