I have my own roadside assistance plan. Don't need HOG.

Was a member for a while, broke down once years ago, called for towing and was told they had no-one to send out to get me. Also, the local chapter is not my kind of folks so I just take that money and put it back into my pocket.

My renewal slip also shows $45.00. Should I let it lapse and they'll offer me a renewal for $25? Is that what you're saying?

Well,

I haven't figured out what it's good for yet....save your money and send it to AAA so you can have service if you actually need it.........

I use AAA. Unlike HOG, AAA covers the rider no matter what bike he/she is riding. This is a great benefit for someone like me with multiple bikes.

I'm not into clubs (politics) and bike rental, so besides roadside assistance, the other benefits of HOG don't matter to me.

I became a life member in the 80's when it was cheap. The annual map manuals of all harley dealers has come in handy. Also, i do not search out there events specifically, but if there at an event that I am, I take advantage of the free drink or what have you that is offered. It's been worth it for me in the long haul. I also got $1000 worth of accessories for my bike one year from some deal they had going in 2005. It's more than paid for itself!

The expired membership has everything to do with it. Mine expired in April of this year. They recently made me an offer to let me renew for "only" $25. Yeah, that's right, if I'm dumb enough to sign up for the remainig half year on my expired membership (not a new membership, just the remaining half year on my old membership) they will only charge me $25. WOW, what a deal.

My God, how can they let it go that cheap? Won't they lose money??
