On a ride with a few yesterday with a few buddies, we bumped into the owner of my local Dealer (Treasure Coast HD) at an ocean front 'biker bar' here in Florida. I happened to be wearing one of his dealership HD shirts. He rolled out the red carpet and bought my buddies and I several rounds of drinks in an inpromptu show of customer appreciation. Made our day.
A few riding buddies who do not own Harley's were impressed and just might be future moco customers because of this simple jesture. I always try to wear a t-shirt from a dealer that's as far away from where I'm riding as I can get, so I doubt that ever happens to me... Unless I run into the owner of Grand Canyon HD or Australia's Gold Coast HD in some Indiana bar, and that ain't likely.
Sounds like he might have had a couple before you got there.... but it's good for his shop's reputation in any case...
I have been wearing a Mexican Harley Davidson tee-shirt here in Virginia...probably won't run across that owner here.
