Well thanks for the input. I believe I'll start wearing ear plugs until I either get used to them, or fed up enough to shell out more $ on a high end full face helmet. The 1/2 helmets look comfy, but I just can't believe they're a good match with my newbie status.
Nature of the beast you ride a motorcycle you got noise. The cockpit of new cars are so insulated now with better audio systems motorcycles are quite noisy by comparison. When I first started riding it was sensory overload with the noise smells and you notice things more. Now thats what I enjoy about riding being part of the machine and not just sitting in it.
Huh....oh yeah... after 30+ yrs it doesn't bother me, don't wear a helmet....sometimes on the freeway I lock the throttle and stick my fingers in my ears...please don't try this at home!
Are we really talking about this? How noisy your helmet is????? Your riding a bike not driving a car, wind noise is part of the riding experience, becoming one with your evviorment. I wear earplugs on long trips, but I want to hear / feel a little wind, hot / cold, noise / vibration, smell flowers / exhaust / roadkill . Sensory overload is part of the experience. JMHO
