i recently enrolled in a bartending school. i am getting out of the car biz just no money in it right now. any bartenders out there that can give me any advice on bartending i would appreciate it thanx
Good luck. I know what you mean about the car biz. I have been a service advisor in a dealership about 17 years and it is getting more and more difficult to make a living. I would love to get into something else.
Here's a tip.....pay attention to your customers and don't spend all your time yacking with ther other bartenders. Nothing more annoying than trying to get another beer while the bartenders are yacking away to each other like they're on the other side of the bar. Remember.......pay attention. ; )
man I have tended bar for a long time in college later moving over to bouncing... my girl owns a bar and works behind the bar... it is more your locations... find a crowd in their upper 20's that is where you want to get a job... best tippers... the "hot spot" type bars are fun to work at but all the broke college kids and you will not make any flow! you want to find a place where all the people hit up after work...that is how you can make some serious $$$... carrer = career? (just busting *****)
Waste of money IMO. I went to a bartending school back in the early 80's.
When I got through with it and went out looking for a job they wanted to know what experience I had. I told them I'm a recent graduate from bartending school, they said that nice but what experience do you have.
Never did get a job tending bar but was able to pick up work as a D.J. in a strip club much better than tending bar.
I tended bar and bounced for several years back when I still had enough gray matter and stamina to do it and I found that I made the best $$$ in Titty Bars. The customers tipped good and the dancers tipped us also. Worked in a couple in Phoenix when I was going to MMI back in the late 80's and was taking home between $250.00 and $500.00 a night consistently.
