When it's dry, use my half hemet, balaclava, Gerbing gloves, jacket w/sweatshirt and firstgear H2 overpants below 50 or leather overpants if it's just in the 50's. Rain, Shoei multitec modular, all of the above with Nelson Riggs rain jacket.

Bandana on the face, leather jacket with warm gloves, tall boots, and a windshield really helps keep you warm.

Holy Cow, 50*, I'd love it!! Up here those are nice spring riding days. But seriously, get yourself some nice layering clothes, wool is best but fleece is great as well, and the heated gear will work wonders. If you're primarily in FL, heated gloves, and a full face Helmet with fleecy neck warmer will work wonders. I wish I could switch places with you, especially for the next few months. Got a son in FL, and he's riding every day on his R1200GS Beemer. You're one of the lucky ones. Just don't envy the heat and humidity during the warm months. Ride safe.

The layer thing is definantly the ticket.. Toss some stuff in yer saddlebags as well..Can't put it on iffin ya don't have it..

Few years ago in the fall, One afternoon it was 50ish or so, I rode to a town about 15 miles south of me and hooked up with some Brothers ta hang out. Ended up stayen later then I thought and walked out about 9ish that night and there was frost on my bike and it was mid 20s or so.. Crud.. Now what..I had my chaps and jacket of course and gortex gauntlets, Bronson hat..But of course were in a no helmet state so never carry one.. hadda couple bandanna's to try an cover my face.. OMG by the time I got back ta town and then across town to my house I was in serious hurt.. Only thing I could think of was to strip my clothes off as I came in from the garage (good thing I lived alone) and go straight out the back door and do a barrel roll into the hot tub.. Won't make that mistake again.. Now I'm a good boy scout.. (Be Prepared)

It was so cool riding my first 5 miles up all by myself and back. I will admit I would rather ride with a buddy.

What do you use to keep your self warm? I am thinking one of those skull face covers (under my helmet)....I just want my face and ears to be warm. I tried using one of my ski knit hats under my helmet but that wasn't working...too bulky. I have so much hair I think I was adding to the problem.
I just ordered my jacket from Fox Creek so that should help some. Just looking for a few tips on what works. On my way back I saw a guy with just his shirt and jeans riding in the opposite direction and couldn't believe thats all he had on.
I consider 50 to 60 degrees ideal riding conditions anything more is too hot to wear leather, anything cooler requires too many layers to be comfortable.

BTW, I don't know how cold it has been here the past two mornings, but I have rode home from work on the bike each day, and both days there was ice on my seat, so it must of been pretty cold.

+1 on the bandana but get a leather one. Another big +1 for Fox Creek jacket your going to be pleased with that jacket. They do have a leather bandana and I would also recommend the Lined Deerskin Gauntlet gloves. You'll be spending about another $75.00 and will be warm. Get down into the mid 40's and you will probably want chaps. If your daily temps in Florida fluctuate anything like here in SoCal, chaps are the way to go. you can put them on foe the cold motning ride and take them off mid day and back on for the cold ride home. Long Johns will work but why go through all the trouble of finding a place to change 3 times in one day?

If you don't want to install a windshield, just roll up a blanket and strap it to the handlebars. Get some good leather gloves. Remember if it gets real cold, you can layer up with crumpled up newspaper inside your jacket.
Things to keep in your jacket pocket:
'surgical gloves' they really cut the wind and chill. (Also used for giving 1st aid)
Bandanas = they fold up tight and can be used as a face shield, extra covering for the hands, or for a 1st aid piece if needed.
