Just like others have already stated... I get on, hold the bike steady holding the front brake tight. I tell her when to get on and when to get off. It's just a system that works for us.

Heres our routine.. I get on the bike first. She then puts and drags her left foot on everything... Then she drags and scuffs her right boot on everything she missed with her left. Then we go ride. During dismount she scrapes, drags and scuffs her boot's (Yes thats plural) on everything she missed during the mount. We tried having her get on first but that only gave her more stuff to scape, drag and scuff her boots on plus it some how envoled 360 turns and made me dizzy. It will all work itself out.

Didn't know there was a wrong way - except maybe trying the Lone Ranger mount while the bike is moving. Sounds like the dude with the mouth is trying to seriously cover up a few embarrassing moments of his own by making someone else feel bad. What a stud.

Man, I'm 6-4, 235 and I kick the saddlebag top all the time, getting on and off and I've got a $3500 paint job on mine. No big deal, they're made to be rid and they're gonna get scratched. Just keep a good coat of wax on there, it does help. Course you could always mount like the old cowboy did on their horses, run up from the back and jump on....hehehe

This was posted earlier from Rhubard: My wife read with interest as she is learning all over again to mount the King. Our Hog Chapter director teased her beyond embaressment. She will not get on and/or off bike now unless we are alone. We have played around in the garage with the door shut. Believe she is doing better by using the right side and getting off on the left side. But she wanted me to ask the lady passengers and riders if they had special tricks or advice. And she is like Rhubard, laugh al you want!!!!

How do you bigger guys (I'm 6'2" and 300# with jumbo feet) get on your bikes with backrests, sissybars, tourpacks, etc...

I just put on a sissybar and cant get on without kicking or rubbing the sissybar unless I pay real close attention and go slowly.
I must be doing something wrong. I can't figure out how to get on an ultra without rubbing my foot somewhere.
I'd like to put a bag on the back, but not until I master the ancient technique of the masters.

I know this is dumb, and maybe its just a function of my fat-azz.

So feel free to make fun, but if you have advice, I'd like some.

Thank you,

I would ride with another HOG chapter that is offensive what that guy did. I am suprised you wife didn't give up riding after that.
