I am still dismayed that color code can't be had at any price for certain factory colors and years.
I'm not sure what you're saying here. Are you saying Harley will not provide you with the information (such as, "The color code for your bike is 4YJ")? ... or, are you saying you cannot get the bike in the color you want?

Not true...there is more profit in the motor clothing than the bikes. But is any company that has had such a long growth stretch there will be some failures when the economy tanks. Just the way it is.

ok I worded it wrong I meant by them being forced to build the super duper shops instead of the shops they had where if they didnt conform they would not be selling hd bikes

It is sad but it happens. A thinning of the herd if you will. The strong will get through this while the weaker dealers will not. I am sure MOCO does not want to prop up a bunch of failing dealerships new ownership or not.

Get a life........and take the bus.
Hey, watch what you say, Johnnyhonda is lurking in our midst.

And I agree, the economy has everything to do with it! However, we are all impacted by it, and will emerge again in the future. Things WILL turn around.

The dealerships around me have become super centers. Even Orlando Harley South, a dealership branch that operates out of a mini mall, traditionally held maybe 8-10 used bikes at a time, now has well over 20 used in front of the store, and a slew of new bikes inside of the dealership. If the big dearlerships start going, I couldn't imagine how they would liquidate that many used bikes.

You're right, and unfortunatly it's a sign of the times. In the town I live in there are 2 ford and 2 chevy dealers, each independant of each other, and within 2-3 miles of each other. If things keep going the way they do I'm sure one of them will wind up closing it's doors also. I feel sorry for anyone who has to close the door cause it's ultimately the workers who now have to find new jobs in this economy of "no jobs". And if you find a job it's not going to pay any where near what they were making.
