I use to build car models when I was a kid... those miniatures sure bring back memories. Now I just wait for my kid to get tired of his motorcycle toys and then I put them on a shelve in my garage......
Tamiya makes a great line of plastic Harley (and other brands) models. Although all plastic, they use many different finishes on the pieces to have the look of chrome, powdercoat, and painted surfaces. They are 1/6 scale and look nice when done (I built two or three recently).
Just Google "Tamiya Harley" to get a good idea of what's available. They can be found at larger hobby stores or online.
Hello,
Tamiya will be a good choice to make a nice model and you can put a lot of detail to your bike in this scale. But anyone who knows the shovelhead well, will find a few mistakes on the model. This models are not for beginner. It´s a good job for the winter season.
I have a small collection but never opened any of them but two that were open when I bought them. They all came from ebay. I can't decide whether to open them or leave them sealed...
I have
2 different Harley Davidson tractor trailers
1950 Harley panel truck
2000 Harley ford f150 with trailer and motorcycle (have 2 of these, one was open and started)
Softail custom
"classic" police bike... does not say Harley on box but inside there are Harley emblems and stickers for on the bike. Kind of strange.
Ill take a post a picture of them if I get a chance.
