A friend called and asked me what are the fees for selling a bike on ebay, do they charge you a flat fee if its sold or do they go by the amount of sale.. I told him i dont know but will give it a try on here.... Thanks
I think it is about $100. But check their website as they will have a schedule of fees. It may depend on the price of the bike. You will want to use PayPal to collect funds and there are feees there too.
There is a listing fee based on your original asking price then a percentage of sale. It is all on their website along with how to register etc. Been buying and selling for a few years and have no problems. Just remember Caveat Emptor
I haven't sold anything on there in a while but when I sold my metric it was a $40 listing fee and then an additional $40 final value fee when the bike sold. If you dont put a reserve on it then as soon as someone makes the first bid you're charged the final value fee, but if you put a reserve on it then that fees not charged until the reserve price has been meet, and if the reserve price is not meet by the time the auction ends, you keep the bike and you only pay the listing fee.
There other fees that can be added as well like: picture fees if you put more then 4 pics, layout fees if you want some kinda professional layout, and it also cost more to put a reserve on it too!

they dont do percentages on autos, motorcycles, and powersports. it just a flat fee. Last time I sold it was $30 for powersports and $40 for autos and motorcycles.

That must be new. When I sold my 84 Gmc last year i paid listing and then a %
Just sold a car and the current fee is a flat $125 when you sell. There are little fees that can get added for reserve pricing, etc., but if you just go with the basic the flat fee applies.

It looks to me as if most bikes on ebay aren't selling unless they are really cheap. You can go to the type of bike you're dealing with and click on "see completed listings" near the top of the page. You'll see that most didn't sell and you can see the prices on the ones which did.
Here's one that sold yesterday:
