54 degrees and sunny today, but the wind was blowin like a *****! Headed to the mountains, about 80 miles away just to ride the twisties on the way. It got so bad at one point I had to slow way down. But coming back, had the wind behind me so it was smooth sailin in the curves and cruise control set on 75 in the desert straights. All in all, a good ride.
Windy as crap here today, went for a short ride to gas up for tomorrow. Was nice to be able to ride in a short sleeve t-shirt. Supposed to be around 75 tomorrow thanks to todays south wind. Still be windy tomorrow but should be less.
My boss and I are meeting at Fort Worth Harley tomorrow and going for a ride around the area.
We went out today, because it was supposed to be 40° and dry.
It was 31° when we left this morning. Ran into a little drizzle. Around noon, it was drizzling pretty steady, but the temps were up around 38°. We stopped at a Harley dealer somewhere around 2. My wife and I stepped outside for a smoke at one point, and noticed it had turned from drizzle to freezing rain. Being about 90 minutes from home, and guessing the weather wasn't going to get better we decided to call it a day and head home.
As luck would have it, the freezing rain ended, and turned into a nice steady, cold rain - which continued for pretty much the entire trip home. Riding into a 25 mph wind, with gusts up to 40, didn't make it any more pleasant. I think I managed to end up with a few articles of clothing that weren't soaked by the time we pulled into the garage.
My wife is such a trooper... had to nearly carry her into the house when we got home.
Maybe it's time to take the bike apart, paint it, add some chrome stuff, and save the next ride for the spring.
