Question Auxilliary Lights

Just finished putting the lights on my Lowrider. All that is left is to adjust them. Dyna manual doesn't have any info. Actual adjustment should be simple, loosen nut, turn light, tighten nut. Just don't know where they should aim to get the best use of the light. Thinking maybe a softail or RK manual might have the info, or maybe one of you has done it and knows. Thanks

with my car, when i threw in some KCs behind the grille, i just went to a decently large unlit parking lot at night, and played with them until i was happy. it took some work, but im happy with them. if you could support the bike so its not on the sidestand, i dont see why you couldnt do something similar

That's the easiest way.
Find a level lot where you can face a wall, from 20' away. Measure how far it is from the ground to the middle of your lights. Put a piece of tape on the wall and aim your light so the center of the beam hits a few inches below the mark.
Do the same thing with your headlight, because they usually aren't adjusted properly.

Then you can measure how far apart the lights are mounted. Put a mark on the center of the wall. Your beams should hit the same distance apart as your lights are mounted and be equidistant from the center mark. Make sure your bike is perpendicular to the wall. It would probably come out more accurate if you sat on the bike, while someone else did the measuring.
You could aim the lights a little further apart , if you want to put more light on the shoulder of the road or ditches.

park your bike in front of a wall at night from about 15 feet. Aim your aux lights just below your head light, also aim them off to the right a little so you don't blind cars and other bikes.

I have some PIAA 910 lights I have the left light aimed staight and the right angled towards the right to cover more of the shoulder (I do a lot of early morning riding in rial areas) so I wanted more of the "treeline" illuminated.

Thanks guys, HD tech at the dealer said the same sort of thing. If we ever get a half way warm day i'll get it on the jack in the driveway and play with them. Thanks again. BTW they look good on the lowrider, just have to get a different detachable windshield now. Old one won't fit
