Dealer MAY not be a scumbag. They may just be telling you that they don't warranty any of their used bikes, without an extended warranty. The factory warranty just happens to supersede that.
Point is, that should be mentioned before the sale, not after. Like they had no idea?
Ron
They are probally just covering there own butts, with a as is statement just incase something goes wrong with the bike like they probally do with all there used bikes that are out of warrantee, but you should still have the remainder of the factory, for pease of mind go back to the dealer and have them state that on the paper they want you to sign though.
I bought my lowrider in july of 07. The original owner bought it in april and put 300 iles on it and traded it in. When I bought it it had the warranty intact and I had some minor warranty work done. No Charge. I'd call the Moco and find out from them. You could also ask around other dealerships if they are avaible to you.
The letter is just a formality. The warranty is still in effect and is measured from the first day the bike went into service with the original owner. HD goes by that date and the bike's VIN for warranty claims.
Tear it up and throw it away, **** on that dealer and his too damn late paperwork. If it isn't signed at time of purchase too bad for them, no matter what they are trying to say with it. You would think the morons would get their act together, and present the paperwork in an orderly fashion at sale and explain each paper. This sounds like a worthless piece of paper to me and too bad on them for not giving an explaination with it and for being idiots in general for conducting business this way.
I wonder if they're trying to get you to pay for any future warranty work and also getting reimbursed by the MOCO too. Basically getting paid twice. Just a thought.

I called the dealer today. I was told that the bike is covered by HD for the duration of the original (two-year) warranty. Their "As-Is" waiver is intended to protect them against any direct claims of the dealership itself.
I'm still not signing it. But, I wouldn't ask them to do anything outside of normal warranty work either.
