Yeah, but if you like the look of laced wheels, you kind of don't have a choice.

Would have tried anything 2 years ago on the 4th of July. Had a flat with spoked rims and no place open to get fixed. Luckily someone at the truck stop I ended up at knew someone and called them. Got it fixed about 2 hours and 60.00 later.

Roger that. Heritage and Deluxe family here. Few months back I did a solo overnighter on the trans Canada highway. Can't imagine having a flat 100 miles from nowhere. Guess moral of the story is to be prepared with water, food and a way to start a fire.

I've read about some shops using a sealer, somewhat similar to silicon to seal the spokes on the inside and running a tubeless tire. Haven't heard much about it though. They said it works...

Here's another option:

Flat Shield
Seals Punctures
• Seals puncture holes up to 1/8” inch
(6 millimeters)
• Maintains up to 90 percent of pressure between
puncture and sealing process
• Harmless to rubber and coated metal wheels
• Aids in balancing, won't affect patching.
899-180 8 fl. oz.
899-182 16 fl. oz.
899-183 32 fl. oz.

Balance Plus
Maintains tire balance as it wears over the life of the tire.
• Used to fine tune tire balancing after
&nbspweights have been installed
•Continues balancing process as the tire
wears

899-186 12 fl. oz.

I guess it was a once in a life time deal time deal, but I put some in the FLAT front tire of my 1200 Custom once. Rode it 200 miles from Poast, Tx. to get home, and when I went too fix the tire a week later, It was still up! I would try it again if it was all I had.------ I've used it on tubeless tires many times. Won't leave home without it.

There is the tubeless tire thing again. FAF works too Laced wheels are not tubeless. Try anything but don't be disappointed if it doesn't work. Laced wheels are really cool and look great but 1. They are a bitch to keep clean and 2. If you have a flat you are pretty much screwed I am basically a lazy bastage, less work means more seat time laced wheels=more work

Had a flat in summer on the cross bones, 75 mile tow home, dont know if it will help but got the slime for the tube tire and the little compressor that I keep in my saddle bags, but on the brighter side when you get a flat on a tube tire you just have to replace the inner tube, from what I hear about tubeless tires is that you should replace the tire for safety reasons.
