Back when I was just a pup, I had my 74 inch shovel to 105 and it handled the best at high speed I haven't done it since. At that speed things tend to happen REAL FAST
someone said 110 is fast. On a Harley it is. I used to have a yamaha r6 a long time ago. It has a digital speedometer and I tok it up to 157. That was all she had. Imagine my disappointment. Just to find a road where this was possible was difficult around my home Los Angeles, but wasy out in the desert there was a place. Now as far as myHarley goes, I think i've been to abpout 100 on the freeway, but that was right after I got her. She doesnt need to go that fast. Shes all about the style and such. Soul. You know, that stuff that they say is an inside job.
i one those who just has to know 115mph in 5th hit 6th ran her up to the start odm fig. about 130. and you know what i think it will go faster ....06fxldi stage 1 25deg inj.
I had my 01 fxst to 100mph. Good enough for me. There was a bit more throttle left but I wasn't going there. I also had a VROD just over the hundred mark with lots of snort left in it, also was extremley stable, very nice bike. Again I definately wasn't going there.
Standard set-up here is to install a high lift cam, open the jets, K&N air cleaner, and tuned exhausts.
Advanced ignition . . .
It lopes at street speed and want to run in low gears, but out on the hwy it just starts getting wound up around 70. At 95 it has plenty of throttle left to go.
1996 Heritage Softail Custom Classic. I got it with 17K miles from a retired Coast Guard Engineer (That's him in the photo, not me.) Emaculate, $12K.
200 plus 1/4 on a street Honda?? I'd like to see that one. The new ZX14 is pulling 9 sec
1/4's in the 150 range, but there is a BIG difference in just 50mph. Sounds more like some Top Fuel Bench Racin' to me!
LOL, I guess you and I are the only ones to catch that Pro Stock Motorcycles in the NHRA have just broke the 200mph barrier, and it was the Vance & Hines V-Rod that set the record.
Btw my Road King will pull 120 in 4th gear[8D]
